News: AJA Roundup – Highlights & Priorities

The full spirit and comradery of our industry was on display last week at the American Jail Association Conference & Expo in California. The pandemic may have changed the way some business is conducted, but there is no substitute for the discussions and interactions that occur when we come together as an industry.
While meeting with different facilities and organizations, a few common themes quickly become apparent.
Criminals keep getting more innovative, while corrections facilities and officers are asked to do more with often less resources.
The long-term staffing issues that COVID brought to light are not going away – and facilities are constantly searching for ways to speed the processing of inmates without sacrificing security or personal dignity.
Responding to increase in activity and in some cases legislation, screening employees and visitors is a growing challenge with its own set of rules and mandates.
Over the coming weeks and months, STVS will continue sharing information about how we are introducing solutions to these challenges. Most recently we launched a new, compact body scanner – HT3000SV – that is engineered to meet the space and budget requirements of all facilities.
