ACA Preview – Avoiding Security Complacency

STVS is excited to welcome you to the 154th American Correctional Association (ACA) Congress of Corrections, August 15-18 in Nashville.

Each year, this event serves as an important showcase of the technologies and trends shaping our industry. As artificial intelligence (AI) is impacting our daily lives in a growing number of ways, many security companies and system manufacturers are making claims about all the benefits AI brings to the security screening process. But what impact does relying on AI have on the operator? What does it do to the false positive rate?

The STVS position is straightforward – security is created by redundancies. Having a multilayered approach for inmates and employees/visitors with complimentary technologies and backup ensures a successful security program. This is why STVS focuses on software that empowers the operator –through enhancements including embossment– that generate fewer false positives. Operators that are reliant on AI become complacent and dependent on automated technology. This complacency constitutes a major security challenge and direct threat – as those seeking to do harm will never stop innovating.

In booth 518, see live demos of our multilayered screening solutions for both inmates and employees/visitors:

In addition to demonstrations, STVS leaders will be at the booth to discuss your security program and how our training, software, and comprehensive service programs can be customized to meet your needs.

Sincerely,
Barry Jonhson
